I’m thrilled to tell you guys about what I’m reading next. What I Wore: Four Seasons, One Closet, Endless Recipe for Personal Style is brought to us by the exceptional Jessica Quirk of the extremely popular tumblr fashion blog, What I Wore. I’ve been following this blog for a couple of years now and consider myself one of her biggest fans!

I by no means consider myself a fashionista but I do enjoy looking put together and usually have a better day when I’m happy with what I’m wearing. By just skimming through some of the sections of her “fashion cook book” last night, (which I pre-ordered months ago…) I’m already feeling better about what’s already in my closet for the summer. I was very happy to see that what Jessica considers to be “summer staples” I already have in my closet (and here I was thinking that I needed to do some summer shopping!) Now, it’s a matter of having a solid stock of secondary pieces to complete the wardrobe and be able to mix and match different outfits.

What I love most about Jessica and her perspective of fashion, is that anything goes. If you feel good in it, and it fits you well, and you like it, you should be happy with what you’re wearing. Be bold, be creative (with what you already have,) stay classy and be brave is what I’ve gotten most out of her fashion advice over the years of following her blog and now reading her book.

Another extremely helpful tip she offers, is that before you buy sometimes, ask yourself if this item will “go” with three different items that are already in your closet. If the answer is yes, it’s worth picking up and is sure to go a long way in your wardrobe.

I’m so excited not only to finish this book, but to have a reference for each season of the year when I’m cleaning out my closet and updating my wardrobe for the upcoming season. To have her guide me through my closet clean-outs and what I should/shouldn’t keep will be oh so helpful.

With Jessica’s advice, you are certain to always look presentable and ladylike as well as confident and feeling fresh and pretty. What’s not to love about that? I could go on forever, so go get her book!

Bravo, Jessica. I’ve always been thrilled about your blog and now I’m thrilled about your book.
